The Michigan native Quinn XCII has released a new single titled “Fake Denim” accompanied with some fresh visuals. The production is very groovy and modern and Quinn touches upon his current accomplishments in the music industry, with a notable quotable being “million plays no millionaire”. Quinn’s noticeable accent is prominent throughout the song and his unconventional melodic flow fits well on the fresh production. He goes through detailing vivid relationship he had with a girl and the complex intricacies of it. His vocal range is impressive throughout the song and he changes it to fit the song.
The video is very well put together and is definitely not a generic music video that we’ve come to expect from many artists. Directed by Drew Kirsch, the video is very colorful and aesthetic. It’s very creative and definitely one of the better music videos to be released this year, feeling more like a short movie than a music video. The thematic approach of the video is to follow a long the story being told in the song and it flows very well.
