Witt Lowry returns with a pent up rap song titled “Blood In The Water” in which he lets out all his frustrations. He starts off the verse with “Yeah, I don’t fit in boxes or your categories” and this would be a perfect description of Witt Lowry as an artist. He embodies a number of genres and can never be pinned down to one, he makes unique music using a combination of lyrical raps and melodic singing. This is shown in the hook where he gets gentle and lets the melody flow. He also takes aim at mumble rappers, “I would mumble too if I was just a puppet”. This is a clear shot at the popular rappers of this time who some argue are not understandable and resort to mumbling over hot beats.
Witt lets his heart out in this track backed by a simple light minimal beat which perfectly allows Witt to be the main focus of this lyrical assault. “You stole my style, never gave me credit” is another lyric featured in the song where Witt airs out his frustrations at other musicians who have jacked his sound and ran with it. Production comes from Joey Castellani and Cardiak.
